Lac Ajrakh Kurta

Organic cotton Kurta (south-asian traditional tunic) hand-dyed with natural colours (lac), block-printed with Ajrakh technique by the Khatri caste (“one who fills or changes colours”) community in Kutch, and finished by the artisans of Khamir.
 
Ethnic styles express lifestyle. They are practiced by individuals whose heritage is rooted in community rather than land, and considered cultural property.
